The World of a Working Mom

Tough Love

As much as it hurts sometimes, I’m a big fan of tough love. I’ve been using it for years in the classroom, and I’ve had to recently start it at home. God Bless Toddlers.

That being said, through the Fair Review Project, I recently “met” another working woman online who seems to specialize in tough love. Not only that, she “gets” toddlers. I love working online, especially in the webmaster community. There is so much to learn and so many interesting folks to meet.

Now, she’ll probably blow off my little post as I know little or nothing about her universe of coding (I specialize in writing), but as I was taken by her candor and humor, I thought I’d mention her. Jem is a ” l33t PHP ninja” and shares her considerable knowledge with adoring fans and readers through her blog, Jemjabella.co.uk. She works in a few personal tidbits and professional rants and raves as well. (Those are what caught my eye.)

From one online working woman to another, Jem – I salute you!

  1. Thank you for your kind words. It’s always nice to hear that people outside of my typical reader age-range spot something they can relate to or have enjoyed reading on my website.

If only I’d known that, when I posted about becoming a snotty tissue for my niece, I’d soon be the “chicken pox scratcher”, a comfy pillow, the source of the secret sneaky sweeties and these days “Armpy Jem” I don’t think I’d have taken the whole situation so lightly. Being an Aunt is a lot harder than it looks! ;)

  2. <p>I wouldn’t know about being an Aunt, myself, but I do know that my son loves his aunts. It’s definitely a job that has great responsibility and I hope a lot of fun. :) </p>
