Real Mommies Get It

I Shaved a Sticker Off My Leg

For those without two small children, this is what went down. I took a shower for the first time in 48 hours – I was too tired to bother last night before passing out. I shaved my legs for the first time in…um, 48 hours. While doing that quick hand swipe thing to be sure I got the vast majority of visible hairs on my outer left calf, I encountered an odd sensation – the remains of a large Spiderman sticker.

I’m not sure where it came from, but it was there for a while, I’d wager. If I hadn’t shaved my legs, it would have been there even longer. I wore capri pants today – I wonder if the sticker was there then?

Some might be thinking that I’ve lost my mind.

Those with young children who work as much and sleep as little as I do, however, are nodding right now.

They know.

They know that this shaved sticker isn’t a sign of my gradual slip into insanity.

It’s my version of normal.

  1. At least yours was on your leg, one time, I had to get a spongebob sticker deep out of my hair. I have no idea how it even got on there in the first place. :)

  2. It’s good to know I’m not alone. Maybe sticker removal is one of those trials of motherhood….
